A musical theater/dance performance on location that will be played in 2021 on a.o. Oerol and Festival der Aa. Dancer: with non western, non asian appearance. For the role of a slick commercial presenter, an academic/philosopher and newcomer. Dutch is a plus but not a requirement. Alternatively you’re able to act in English; You must be able to work independently and be open to acting and using your voice. The audition is open to dancers from all backgrounds (contemporary, urban etc); You should not be afraid to dance in the mud and get dirty. Improvisation skills required; ‘Nothing to get here’ is Produced by: Wabi Sabi, PeerGrouP and Het Houten Huis Rehearsal period: 15 march to the end of may 2021 Subsequent performance period: june to july 19 2021 ‘NOTHING TO GET HERE’ On a forgotten construction site, an unemployed man, a stumbling old woman and a single mother struggle to survive. Due to lack of money they are condemned to this place, where nothing can be taken for granted anymore. Rigid rules are raining down on them and screaming television commercials keep them awake. A peculiar fanfare of singing counselors, lingering construction workers and well-meaning politicians sweeps through their lives. Slowly everyone starts sinking into the mud. Through dance, live music and texts based on interviews, director Maarten Smit makes poverty in the Netherlands tangible. Location of the performance – a construction site with a mud pool.
