Saturday Dance Teacher to start this September
Job Description
We are in need of a Dance Teacher to join our team of professional industry teachers every Saturday! You will take on the position of Ballet Teacher which will involve teaching 4 x 45 min classes to children aged 7-18 (children split into age groups, not ability).
Our Saturday School takes place every week during term time from 10am-1pm in Forest Hill, SE London. Hourly rate £25.
The start date for the new appointee will be Saturday 16th September 2023.
We are a Musical Theatre lead school but at Take Flight Academy, we realise the core importance of ballet! However, our classes are much more free/contemporary with no focus on exams. Therefore we do NOT require teachers to be of a RAD/ISTD qualification. Applicants MUST have experience in teaching children ranging from 7-18 and must be able to convey their passion for dance to all our students. Recent Enhanced DBS is also required but can be arranged through us if needed.
Job Requirements
We are seeking a minimum, one-year commitment, with the role commencing in September 2023.
As we are a Musical Theatre based school, the appointee would work alongside our current team of teachers who also hold classes in drama, jazz and singing
A Take Flight administative is also onsite at every session to deal with parent facing queries & venue etc.
Experience and love of working with children of all ages is essential. Take Flight's approach is firm but fair, but with plenty of encouragement, inspiration, warmth, humour and fun thrown in!
Job Responsibilities
FEE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The freelance fee for the role is £25 per hour, £75 per 3 hour session.
All our teachers are responsible for the delivery of coherent, enjoyable, and impressive sessions, which in turn, keep the students coming back for more and maintain Take Flight Academy's drive for the highest possible standard of performance.
