Description:
UP - Circus & Performing Arts [formerly Espace Catastrophe], Wallonie-Bruxelles Théâtre Danse | WBTD & Wallonie-Bruxelles International | WBI are once again joining forces to organize a series of 3 matinees Presenting Belgian & international Creative Projects, to be held during the Focus Pros of the 2024 edition of UP FESTIVAL, Brussels’ Circus Festival.
Dates: 26, 27 & 28.03.2024
Time: 10 am-noon
Place: UP - Circus & Performing Arts [Brussels]
Number of Projects selected: 8 to 10 Projects per matinee [x3 matinees]
Each project will have 8 minutes to present themselves [including the intervention of a mentor]
Language of the Presentation: French or English
Discussions between Project leaders & operators after the Presentations
Requirements:
- This Application form is open to Belgian and foreign Circus Companies
- The Show’s Creation has to be scheduled for 2025/26/27
- A mentor [third-party organisation such as a programmer, a creative space, a festival, etc. supporting your project] agrees to support your - Project & will be present at your Presentation
Please note that a person or organisation can only sponsor one project over the 3 days.
- Deadline for submitting Applications: January 14, 2024
- Results will be communicated to the Applicants on Febuary 02, 2024
- A lump sum of €100 will be allocated to each Project to help cover part of the Participation/Presentation fees [including the presence of the mentor]
The following criteria will be considered for the Project selection:
- Strength & originality of the Artistic proposal [development of a singular circus language, innovative & original character of the project, relevance of the dramaturgy & scenographic deployment, quality & demands of the production, etc.]
- Adequacy of the Artistic proposal to the realities of international distribution
- Quality & clarity of the submitted files
Prepare To Present:
Applications are to be submitted via a JOTFORM.
To be submitted at the time of application [possibility of providing temporary or in-progress documents]:
- Information about the Company & its history;
- A project creation file;
- The projected artistic & technical team;
- Estimated creation schedule;
- Estimated budget;
- Information on your expectations and needs for this project to address to the professionnals you will meet during the Focus Pros.
