Description:

The Texas Shakespeare Festival is a rotating repertory professional theatre in East Texas. Their 2026 season of shows are: Midsummer Night's Dream, Emma, Hamlet, 1776, and The Reluctant Dragon.

May 12 arrive /July 29 depart
$6,000 / up to $300 travel / single occupancy dorm housing / 11 meals a week
Minimum Requirements: two years of professional experience in a supervisory capacity required.

Costume Department Director is responsible for:

● Creating daily schedule of the costume shop operations
● Determining the viability of proposed designs regarding budget, time, and labor
● Coordinating measurements and fittings
● Supervising cutter/drapers, first hands, stitchers, wardrobe personnel, and interns
● Maintaining adequate supplies and equipment
● Conducting shop meetings
● Attending production meetings
● Keeping track of budgets and processing receipts
● Assisting with any public relations or community outreach events such as fundraisers, Media Day, displays, interviews, informal talks, etc.
● Coordinating strike of all costume-related areas
● Reports to Managing Director

Wardrobe Supervisor is responsible for:

● Setting up, organizing, and maintaining the racks and storage systems required for the productions
● Organizing and supervising costume load-in and load-out, costume changes, and quick chances for each production
● Cleaning and maintaining the dressing rooms and related areas
● Supervising dressers and making personnel assignments
● Cleaning and maintaining all costume items during the run of the show
● Assuming responsibility for all costumes and accessories in the productions after opening night
● Discussing with the Artistic Director any costume-related issue that could alter the visual design of a production after the show opens
