Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled dance practitioner who can plan, deliver and evaluate high quality arts activities in Doncaster.
Job Description
As part of our Core Artist team, you will work with other experienced, passionate, and adaptable artists in one of the largest participatory arts organisations in the UK.

We are looking for someone who can contribute to the quality and direction of artistic practice across our company. You will deliver work across the company, with your main delivery around Dance On (older adults) and Tuneful Chatter (0-5 year olds) programmes of work.

We want to work with someone who is friendly and approachable. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people including other artists and participants. You will be passionate about collaborating with others, particularly with children and young people and older adults, including those who are Disabled, at risk of harm and/or with limited experience of the arts. Throughout this work you will have a consistent focus on providing the best possible experience.

Terms and conditions

Permanent position

3 days per week

Based at The Point and working across the Doncaster borough

Salary pro rata £28,699 - £31,362 depending on experience

Contributions of 3% to auto-enrolment pension

6.6 weeks paid holiday per year (pro rata)

Job Requirements
Core Artist: Dance - Person Specification

Essential

A high level of skill in participatory dance delivery, specifically working with 0-5 year olds and older adults

A minimum of 3 years' experience in working in participatory arts

Ability to manage the day-to-day running of a project including communicating with partners, freelancers and managing scheduling

Ability to work as a member of a team, including joint planning, delivery and evaluation

Demonstrable understanding of issues related to participation and positive engagement: ability to use approaches that support emotional wellbeing while developing and maintaining a supportive and safe space for everyone attending

An understanding of equality of opportunity and the ability to devise and implement activities that value and celebrate diversity

A commitment and ability to form partnerships and to work in collaboration with professionals & partners from different sectors

To develop and manage projects in both the Arts & Education and Arts & Health strands

To contribute to the quality, style and direction of artistic practice across the company

To contribute to the development and growth of darts and The Point

Responsibilities

Delivery

Deliver workshops, CPD and training sessions as a dance specialist and support the work of fellow artists

Take creative lead for projects. To include:

Engage, brief and manage teams of artists (if appropriate)

Ensure all practical arrangements are completed and communicated

Ensure projects run smoothly, safely and to a high standard and strive to meet the ambitions of darts and the client

Communicate effectively with partner organisations

Address problems as they arise
