Job Summary
The Company Stage Manager will work closely with the Production Manager, 5 actors and the Creative Directors to manage and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the production and tour. This is a national role and the CSM can be based anywhere in the UK as travel to base will be covered.
Job Description
Mid March - 30th June 2025
The Company Stage Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the production and tour with the support of the Production Manager.
Operating sound and lights for the technical and dress rehearsals and shows
The show is operated on a toured MacBook Pro using Qlab and then triggering ETC EOS via OSC either using house consoles or our own ETC Nomad system. The show also tours an Allen & Heath SQ5 audio console and 5 ways of Sennheiser evolution series radio mics for the cast which will also be operated by the Company Stage Manager. Alongside this the show also tours a floor package of intelligent lighting and set practicals.
Get Ins and Get Outs
You will take an active role in all Get Ins and Get Outs. The cast of five are responsible for to supporting the load in, building the set and setting their own props and costumes. The Production Manager will also be at every get in. The cast of five will strike set, pack up props and costumes and assist with the load out for every Get Out.
Relighting on tour
The Production Manager will oversee relighting on tour, supported and deputised by the Company Stage Manager. This might include focussing, patching, plugging in touring LX kit, and liaising with venue staff.
Van Driving
The Company Stage Manager will drive our LWB Mercedes Sprinter van on tour. They will also be responsible for planning routes, parking and refuelling.
Maintenance
Monitor required maintenance work and repairs on set, costume, props, puppets and technical equipment and bring this to the attention of the Production Manager.
Administration
Produce show reports and manage tour related admin such as accommodation details, call times etc.
Merchandise
Keep records of stocks of merchandise (books) and liaise with venue FOH teams to enable sales before and after shows.
Please note that this list is not exhaustive and other duties may be added to it in consultation with the Production Manager and Creative Directors.
Job Requirements
DATES

ESSENTIAL
At least two years professional experience in a comparable role
Knowledge of ETC Eos Family Software
Knowledge of Qlab
Knowledge of Allen & Heath SQ series audio consoles, and Sennheiser evolution series radio mics
Highly motivated with the ability to manage a busy workload under pressure
Full UK driving licence, held for 2 years, over age 25*
Ability to work at height
Eligibility to work in the UK
*Necessary for van driving insurance
DESIRABLE
Medium Scale Touring Experience
First Aid and Safeguarding Training
Lived experience of the communities we serve
