Claude and Alfred Mann Endowed Professorship in Dance

The USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance invites applications for the Claude and Alfred Mann Professorship in Dance. This is a part-time position for an internationally acclaimed artist with expertise in Choreography, Composition, and/or Concert Dance. Selected artist will succeed multi-dimensional artist William Forsythe as holder of the Mann Professorship and will be expected to spend 6-12 weeks in residence at USC Kaufman each year. Initial appointment is for 3-5 years with possibility of renewal. USC Kaufman seeks a visionary, collaborative, dynamic and innovative thought-partner to provide instruction to students in the BFA in Dance program. Involvement may include but is not limited to teaching dance technique, choreography, repertory and performance, improvisation and composition, colloquium, senior seminar, as well as staging and/or creating work.

Assistant Professor of Practice in Dance (Improvisation and Composition)

The USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance invites applications for a Full-time, Assistant Professor of Practice in Dance (Teaching) to provide specialized instruction in the areas of Improvisation and Composition to major, minor, and elective technique courses. USC Kaufman seeks a collaborative, dynamic and innovative artist-scholar to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: all levels of improvisation, composition, and dance technique in one or more of the following forms, hip hop, jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, commercial dance, and/or vernacular dance forms. Ideal candidates will stage works of a renowned choreographer and/or possess experience in commercial dance. Ability to teach academic courses such as Colloquiums, Seminars , and/or general education courses a plus.

USC Kaufman seeks a collaborative, dynamic and innovative artist-scholar to provide instruction to students in the BFA in Dance program as well as the BFA in Musical Theater program (a collaborative program with the USC School of Dramatic Arts and USC Thornton School of Music that provides a rigorous, cohort-based, conservatory-style undergraduate program featuring comprehensive training in acting, voice, dance, dramaturgy, script-writing, lyrics writing, and composition).
