The ideal candidate will have experience in running a business, a non-profit or a performing art organisation but must firstly be a compassionate leader. They must also be keen to get their hands dirty, work closely with the entire team and have a real love for coaching and teaching people to develop Circus Monoxide’s next generation.
They will have to work in close partnership with the Artistic Director, the Circus School Manager as well as the Management Committee for the best, most efficient running of the organisation (CM (Circus Monoxide) & Axis). They will be an important part in the success and growth plan for the organisation. This is a position that will allow the ideal candidate to truly leave a mark and build a brighter future.
OPERATIONAL
Oversee entire operation, its performance and safety whilst supporting a nurturing and collaborative environment;
Lead by example and engage with students, partners, and trainers with a positive mindset;
Supported by the AD and CSM, deliver to most optimal yearly programming for CM and aXis;
Develop and implement strong, inclusive, innovative programs that support the community;
Establish and maintain an effective communication structure with the team as well as parents, students, and external partners (I.e. weekly meetings with notes, quick call backs and emails, trainer meetings, etc);
Lead all marketing executions once the strategy is in place (in partnership with AD and CSM;
Implement and maintain systems and processes to protect and grow the organisation (financial, admin, ops, etc);
Lead all OHS initiatives to ensure safety is a priority and an integral part of the team culture;
Strategic planning (building, funding, resources, calendars, continuous improvement, plan adjustment);
All other required tasks involved in contributing to the greater running of the organisation.
Support the Axis initiatives, events, and productions (in venue and off site when needed);
ADMINISTRATIVE
Weekly payroll management (mainly approval and review, unless School Manager on leave);
Weekly payables management;
Maintain enrolment system and database;
Manage all HR processes to ensure compliance and adequate management of staff (employee files, certifications, confidential info, etc);
Implement and ensure timelines for scheduling, changes, cancellations, and operating hours;
In partnership with the management team, support the delivery of the marketing strategy (staff rostering, photo shoots, promo events, etc).
FINANCIAL
Ownership of financial processes and P&L;
Ensure all financial documentation is processed according to management committee specifications after the recent changes;
Management of financial support team (auditor, bookkeeper, tax agent);
Supported by the School Manager, oversee all cash flow, payments, and accounts receivable;
Ensure the team is aligned on the resources available (budget, resources, strategic planning);
Supported by the AD and CSM, lead and execute funding application;
Ensure that all funding expenses are tracked and documented to remain compliant and ready for audits.
