Circus entrepreneurs.expiredEll Circo D'ell Fuego (ECDF) |
Description:Ell Circo D'ell Fuego (ECDF) is a haven for circus entrepreneurs. They bring young people and adults into contact with circus and focus on discovery , development and entrepreneurship . Within the entrepreneurship pillar, they will launch a new edition of our START-UP LABO in the fall of 2025 , a paid internship that supports young, recently graduated circus professionals during their leap - or somersault - towards a professional career. Why this Start-up Lab? Circus artists who have just graduated usually have many questions. What now? Do I apply for an artist's status? Do I set up a non-profit organization? Perhaps it would be better to start as a self-employed person? Or as an employee? How do I administratively develop and finance my first projects? Where can I continue training? What if I still need some extra time to shape my project? And what about insurance? The START-UP LABO of Ell Circo D'ell Fuego offers young makers time and space to search for answers. Afterwards they are ready to throw themselves into the professional field. With this LABO we want to strengthen recently graduated circus artists who want to settle (again) in Belgium. We do this with both business and artistic tools that they can use to start and develop a healthy and focused professional career. In addition, they enter an artistic research with a coach from the Ell Circo D'ell Fuego network. He will guide them in the development of a final product. On the programme of the START-UP LABO We examine the administrative and statutory situation of the creator and point the way to the correct information channels. We offer tips & tricks for drawing up and structuring creative and subsidy files. We look at which communication tools and channels the creator can use to profile themselves with a view to bookings and expanding the professional network. We support the maker in developing a three-year plan on a business and artistic level. Where is your dream and how do you get there? We broaden the artistic experience of the maker by establishing a collaboration with an artist from our network. We offer training space where the maker can develop his project. How does a trajectory in the START-UP LABO actually proceed? They offer a recently graduated circus artist or company a paid internship consisting of three modules. While you complete these modules, you will be employed part-time by Ell Circo D'ell Fuego* for 8 weeks and will be given the full-time space you need to create. * 19 hours/week with a salary according to the applicable scales in PC 304 Performing Arts, wage category B. Within the START-UP LABO they want to offer young makers the necessary space to develop into successful artists. ECDF focuses on cultural entrepreneurship and sustainable, future-oriented and safe working. But also on connection, with already established artists who frequent their training room. And with young people active in our work, who are also starting to dream of a successful circus career. As a STARTER you get a VIP spot in their circus haven, which revolves around inspiring (yourself and others). Practical information For whom? For (Belgian) circus artists or companies who want to establish themselves as a 'maker' (again) in Belgium and have recently graduated from a course in Higher Circus Arts at a college, university, academy or conservatory. They limit themselves to this target group because the administrative support they offer is based on local regulations. When? Kick-off: 1 meeting in the week of September 1st – aligning needs and expectations – in the ECDF offices in SPRK. Module 1: 3 weeks in the autumn (from mid-October) – training and coaching on business, communication and physical themes – in the ECDF training room in SPRK Module 2: 3 weeks in spring (preferably February) – research with artistic coach + follow-up of the business themes – in the ECDF training room in SPRK + in an external creative space Module 3: 2 weeks in an external creation space, time to be discussed – creation Submit your proposal!
