Job Description
The International Center for Moving Arts is looking for circus artists, circus performers curious about the discipline and/or gymnasts, passionate about transmission and teaching, eager to create links between disciplines and aesthetics, and ready to join the team in the exceptional adventure of developing an ambitious high-level amateur circus arts school.
The International Center for the Arts in Motion
The International Center for Arts in Movement, a leading center for circus arts in the Aix-en-Provence region, strives to share the diversity of these arts with as many people as possible, whether residents or artists, children or adults, beginners or experienced. It aims to be a meeting place for the arts, for dialogue and discovery, where projects and vocations are born, without artistic or social boundaries. It is organized around four major axes: discovery, transmission, creation, and dissemination, which feed off each other.
In October 2013, the CIAM opened its amateur circus arts school, welcoming children and adults every evening of the week, all day Wednesday, and Saturday morning. Nearly 400 students attend each week, discovering circus arts with professional teaching artists. During vacations or weekends, specialized or introductory courses are organized for children or adults. During the day, schools or specialized establishments are welcomed for short- or long-term projects. In June, an end-of-year performance by the students attracts over 2,000 spectators.
CIAM also organizes the Jours [et nuits] de cirque(s) festival at the end of September, which attracts nearly 12,000 spectators each year. Throughout the year, the venue hosts artists in creative residency to work on their future shows. Free public presentations of the work stages are offered regularly.
