We are seeking a dedicated Circus Arts Animator for a one-year fixed-term contract. This pivotal role involves designing and delivering engaging multidisciplinary circus sessions for a diverse student body, including children, adolescents, adults, and specialized groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for adapting activities to various skill levels and pedagogical objectives, meticulously tracking and evaluating student progress, and orchestrating holiday programs and special workshops. Key contributions also include conceptualizing and facilitating student showcases and demonstrations for school events, actively participating in public manifestations and partner collaborations, and ensuring the safe setup, operation, and maintenance of all circus equipment. Beyond direct instruction, the animator will contribute to the vibrant life of our institution through team meetings, reporting, and active involvement in school events such as open stages and festivals, including technical support like stage management and audience reception. Candidates should possess a minimum BPJEPS in Circus Activities or BIAC/TIAC diploma and bring proven experience from a year-round circus education setting. Essential skills include a strong foundational technical ability across various circus disciplines, with a specialization in acrobatics and/or aerial arts being a significant advantage. Expertise in engaging diverse publics, employing effective animation techniques, and supervising groups in a circus environment is crucial, alongside the capacity to develop comprehensive written pedagogical plans. The ideal applicant will be autonomous, highly organized, a collaborative team player, and an excellent listener. This full-time position entails 37.5 hours per week, comprising a maximum of 24 hours of direct instructional time and 13.5 hours dedicated to preparation and administrative tasks. Availability is required for three evenings per week (not extending beyond 9 PM) and occasionally on weekends for year-end performances and special school events. The role offers one week of leave during each school holiday period and four weeks during the summer, with two consecutive days off provided weekly.
