n 2006, GONGLE was founded to rethink the functions and manufacturing methods of the theater. We want to make it a space for confrontation and dialogue around the activities, productions and aspirations of the various players in our societies.
This approach seems important to us in order to circulate responsibilities, powers and spaces of representation between the different environments. Our work involves people from different backgrounds; this is why we develop methods which allow a shared practice of theater.
2 // (Two bars) Theater, street workout and circus
2 // takes the form of a stroll in the public space with a circus artist and a street workout athlete. It questions the inscription of work and in our bodies and in public space. We started the first experiments on 2 // in November 2019, in the Landy business district in Plaine Saint-Denis. Three videos were made on preparation, cooperation and performance.
In 2021, research around this project is continuing. In La Noue, around, a popular district emblematic of Montreuil, with the youth. They are part of the sequel to confinement where sports and cultural practices in public space have been reinvented, and where the issue of access to work is becoming more and more burning.
