Description:
All new performers must complete a virtual audition. Instructions on how to submit your virtual audition will arrive in a separate email within 24hours of completing your application.
Basic Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old
Proficient on one of the following instruments: Various Brass Instruments, Drum Kit, Bass Guitar, Guitar, Keyboard/Piano, Various Wind Instruments, Harp
Minimum of 3 years of private instruction and/or experience on specific instrument (preferred)
Ability to sight read music (preferred)
Outgoing and friendly personality- versatile and ability to improvise
Dance and/or marching band experience (preferred for some specific positions)
Must be able to work most event nights
Must be able to disclose accurate availability for all event/rehearsal dates during the audition process
Willingness to own and keep instrument in working condition
High School graduate (preferred)
College and/or trade school with Music major (preferred)
Costumes will be provided by Busch Gardens and will remain the property of Busch Gardens
Must be able to lift and/or carry instrument on a frequent long term basis
Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift
Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks
Must be able to transition from working indoors and to working outdoors, in varying Florida weather, to include extreme heat while in costume
Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs
Job Responsibilities:
Perform 4-10 shows a day for up to 40 hours/week, to include special functions, rehearsals, and recordings
Perform for up to 20 minute during each show
Work shifts up to 9 hours long
Participate in maintaining Busch Gardens cleanliness standards
Provide and maintain specific instrument including working condition and appearance
Taking and implementing direction from persons of authority
Maintaining a tidy and safe work area
Maintain a professional demeanor while working with a diverse group of customers, leadership and co-workers
Perform other duties as assigned based on business need
