Job Description
MAIN ROLE :
Be the technical support within the theatre for Cinema DCP system, lighting, sound and AV.
Support the Technical Manager (TM) with all technical aspects for live events - as required
Support the technical Manager with the delivery of the film programme (DCP) and Screenings programme (pre recorded)
To ensure that all films and screenings start on time.
Manage the delivery of on-screen advertising and promotions
To assist the TM when required in rigging and de-rigging lanterns.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist in focussing (safe use of ladders, using lighting desk remote)
Plot and operate the lighting desk (when the TM is working as sound operator or is otherwise busy with other aspects of the show on stage at the time).
Operate sound and / or lighting desks when the show requires two person operation.
Work as stage manager when the show on stage requires cues to be undertaken on stage during the show.
Work as a second member of in-house crew unloading and loading trucks associated with shows when required.
Assist the TM in building and striking the fore-stage when required.
Assist with maintenance of technical equipment with the TM when required.
Build and be competent in showing film. [This can be taught and will require practice.]
Be competent in setting up and showing live screenings if required (experience of Dune & Lansat would be a benefit). [This can be taught and will require practice]
Undertake addition training as and when appropriate and agreed with Technical Manager
Be willing to learn new skills and to keep up to date with new practices as agreed with Technical Manager
Deputise for the TM in their absence.
Working Hours: This is a casual role. Hours are from 20 per month across the week (typically Tues-Sun)
Salary: From £14 / hour - depending on experience
