Description:New Creations Collective are looking for male dancers for their exciting brand-new outdoor production of The Secret Garden.Where: South East England When: 1st June-5th September Deadline for applications: 12th April New Creations Collective are looking for dancers for their exciting brand-new production of The Secret Garden. The production is an outdoor show touring to open air theatres, parks and heritage sites across the South East England Region this summer. Dancers must have at least 3 years of professional vocational training in both ballet and contemporary. All dancers must have very good natural acting ability as story telling is at the heart of the performance. Due to some more rural performance locations the ability to drive would be useful but is not essential. Dancers must be open to working collaboratively during the process of creating this new production. Dancers must be reliable, willing to work outdoors, fully committed to excellence and professionalism and passionate about the company’s chief principles and aims. We are open to hearing from both experienced professionals and recent graduates. Applicants MUST be available for the following dates. The addition of further performance dates is highly likely so we will therefore be asking cast members for first refusal on all dates between 3rd July-5th September. Production Dates; Rehearsal Week 1 – 1st-5th June Rehearsal Week 2 – 7th-11th June Outdoor Pilot Performance – 12th June Confirmed Performance Dates Saturday 10th July Sunday 18th July Saturday 24th July Sunday 25th July Sunday 8th August Wednesday 11th August Saturday 14th August Sunday 15th August Thursday 19th August Saturday 21st August Due to Covid restrictions we are going to look at online submissions first, shortlisted candidates will then be invited for a short interview with the director and possibly a company class. We are looking to cast the following roles; Colin -Small male dancer with a youthful look (under 5ft 8) -Expressive natural acting ability – good at storytelling -Excellent classical and contemporary technique -Good at partner work Mr Craven/Ben Weatherstaff -Taller male dancer (5ft 8+) -Expressive natural acting ability – good at storytelling -Excellent classical and contemporary technique -Good at partner work Male Cover Dancer -Expressive natural acting ability – good at storytelling -Excellent classical and contemporary technique -Good at partner work -Good at learning choreography – this dancer will be covering 2 roles. Pay Rehearsal weeks will be paid at £500 p/w Performances will be paid at £120 p/single show and £150 p/double show. Travel allowances will also be given for rehearsals and performances.
