Description:

Responsible for ongoing safety inspections and regular maintenance of the camp tents and surrounding grounds
and for the safe design, installation, and operation of all circus and tech-related rigging within those tents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
(Majority of duties, but not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary.)
1. Develop procedures for the safe and efficient operation of rigging apparatus.
2. Keep inventory of all camp rigging and tent equipment. Inform Camp Director of rigging and equipment
needs. Purchase new rigging equipment and supplies within budget.
3. Supervise and participate in the set-up and teardown of all rigging and circus equipment including lighting
in circus tents. Assist with tent setup and teardown as needed.
4. With the Assistant Rigger, Head coach and Aerial Tent Lead, prepare rigging equipment for each daily
training session, and for each performance and demonstration. Plan, supervise and participate in rigging
changes during training and performances.
5. As needed, train coaches in appropriate rigging procedures. Supervise ring crew during performances and
demonstrations.
6. Perform safety evaluations on all rigging equipment on a weekly basis, and on tents daily.
7. Perform general maintenance on ground equipment (unicycles, wire, etc.), rigging, bleachers and tents.
8. Assist with design and building of props when needed.
9. Maintain open daily communication with Head Coach and Camp Director.
10. If applicable, participate in specialty coaching when not in time conflict with rigging duties. Participate
in daily coach meetings. Participate in all general staff meetings and Leadership Team meetings when
needed. Participate in staff orientation and training sessions.
11. Participate in general camp activities as time and interest allows. Encourage campers to participate and
have fun in all areas of camp.
12. Help to maintain the cleanliness and organization of the circus training spaces on a daily basis. Help to
keep the coaches’ dorm, dining hall and tents clean and organized.
13. Participate in weekly night duty rotation if needed.
14. Be an inspirational role model to campers in and out of circus class.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, and other physical activities consistent
with setting up heavy equipment. Work may include lifting, carrying or moving objects and equipment
weighing over 100 pounds.
SUPERVISION:
Supervision is received from the Camp Director and Camp Head Coach
SALARY: Base: $900/week. Room and Board included
PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is an approx. three month seasonal position from late May to late August with the possibility of pre- and
post-season consultations.
