Depuis, d’autres versions ont vu le jour: à Paris en 2014 et à Rennes en 2018. Ensemble Ouvert réunit plus d’une centaine d’artistes de divers pays et l’aventure continue. S’engager dans le projet Ensemble Ouvert c’est catalyser sa propre création et celle d’autres artistes qui contribuent à la transmission artistique. Ce n’est pas une création autour d’une vision particulière ou d’une direction choisie. C’est une façon de collaborer autrement, sans égard à la finalité et à l’a priori d’un projet. Chaque contribution est à la fois autonome et reliée à d’autres œuvres. C’est un ensemble ouvert. Le matériel créé par l’artiste est original et respectueux des droits d’artistes. It’s not about making work around one person’s vision, or having someone decide what the work is about. It’s about making work that is both autonomous and committed.
