Call for projectsexpiredPhenomena Festival |
Description:CALL FOR PROJECTS12th PHENOMENA FESTIVAL – OCTOBER 6 TO 21, 2023 Art direction: D. Kimm Deadline: February 15, 2023 Phénomena is an interdisciplinary and bilingual festival whose objective is to highlight innovative, unclassifiable and extravagant artists. The Festival presents cabarets, fanciful and theatrical performances, shows with projections, happenings, ambulatories, installations and explosive and poetic events. The 12th edition of Phénomena will take place from October 6 to 20, 2023 . Experimentation and risk taking are at the heart of our work. Phénomena is interested in professional artists who have a very personal approach, whether emerging or established, and in independent and non-conformist companies. We offer a platform for artists who take risks, who are rigorous and who question themselves. We present hybrid, poetic and extraordinary creations, which remain touching and authentic. Part of the programming is already planned by artistic director D. Kimm and diversity curator Claudia Chan Tak , and the other part will be following the call for projects. We are looking for creations that have gone beyond the laboratory stage, without necessarily having been widely distributed. We really like collaborations, especially those that bring together artists from different communities or generations. Faithful to its mission, Phénomena wishes to offer a platform to so-called artists of diversity, whether they are indigenous, multicultural, bodily, LGBTQ+ or people living with a disability. Unfortunately, La Sala Rossa is not easily accessible to people with reduced mobility, but if you have a project planned in another accessible and confirmed place, do not hesitate to suggest it to us. We welcome proposals from outside Quebec, but our budgets are modest and you must be able to put resources in place to contribute to travel costs. Send us your file by email, which must include: A resume or description of your company including contact person and city of residence; The description of the project (2 pages maximum), including the place and the form envisaged, the confirmed collaborators, the duration, the language of presentation, the technical needs and the resources already in place; Links to videos and photos illustrating your current and/or past work; A timeline with your work steps. Also tell us why your project should be presented at the Phénomena Festival. We have an artistic mission and we are looking for projects that fit into this mission and that can help the Festival evolve. Send your file in French or English to D. Kimm, artistic director, at [email protected] and copy her assistant Anne Bocher to [email protected]. www.festivalphenomena.com
