Accompaniment of circus artists/authors: call for applications from the Rayon C platform
RAYON C, a new platform to support creation in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, launches, with the support of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (DRAC BFC), its first call for applications to support and accompany artists-circus authors in their creative project.
Objectives of the support system
The device aims to support young circus authors in the design of their project and ensure its visibility:
improve support for young contemporary creation;
to encourage the accompaniment of artists-authors/authors in their creative process over long periods of time, by consolidating the means of production, allowing dynamics of research, exchanges and transmission;
increase the circulation and visibility of artistic projects at the regional level and beyond;
encourage a diversification of aesthetics and forms produced and disseminated, with the
greatest artistic requirement.
Artists concerned
The call for applications addressed to authors and authors who recognize themselves of the circus repertoire, and more particularly of its contemporary writings, which count to their credit two creations at the most and are at the beginning of their project (production should not be initiated, but initial research laboratories may have taken place).
To apply, it is not necessary to belong to a company or to be established in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. However, particular attention will be paid to applications from the regional territory.
Particular attention will be paid to:
Artists/authors from national graduate schools or other recognized professional courses;
projects which involve ecological reflection in their production and dissemination process.
Accompaniment
The support will be deployed over at least two years. Rayon C will provide financial assistance (co-production). In addition, each of its members undertakes to support at least one of the selected projects, in different forms:
co-productions, residencies and/or pre-purchases;
professional visibility;
administrative support;
artistic accompaniment;
advice, resources, in-kind contributions, meetings with the public, etc.
Group meetings called “milestone” as well as laboratory periods will be organized.
