Description:About the jobJob Details Description Des Moines Performing Arts has an exciting short-term opportunity for current college students interested in theater and music education or arts management to serve as an intern with our Broadway Intensive and Broadway Academy camps for 9 days (about 1 and a half weeks) in July 2025. Come work with Broadway professionals as they share their experiences and knowledge with middle and high school students. Responsibilities Supporting summer camp faculty in the execution of musical theater-based performance camps for middle school and high school students Tracking student solo assignments Assisting backstage during performance Running sound equipment during rehearsals Charting blocking Assisting with dance and music rehearsals Supervising lunches, breaks, and transition times Collaborating with camp staff, college interns, other externs, and Broadway faculty Qualifications Ability to create a sense of teamwork and community among camp participants and serve as a role model for students Passionate about working with youth and the arts Experience leading theater activities, preferred Experience working with middle school and high school students, preferred Experience with classroom management, desired Resourceful, innovative, forward-thinking and committed Excellent verbal and written communication skills Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, with a high level of professionalism In pursuit of a career in theater education, theater, music education or arts management
