Description:

Shakespeare Theatre Company, in downtown Washington DC, seeks an Audio/Visual Supervisor. This position oversees all Audio/Visual operations in the two theatre facilities at STC and supervises three full-time employees in the department. STC operates with a season of subscription shows, presentations, and a wide variety of rentals. Day to day, the A/V Supervisor will maintain budgets and advise on long-term department fiscal plans; establish and oversee staff and overhire schedules; supervise all equipment maintenance and installation; work closely with guest designers/composers; coordinate sound equipment and backline purchases and rentals; and coordinate audio, projections, and video production for the theatre's internal departments. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and an annual salary of $76,000 - $80,000.

Successful candidates will be familiar with large scale reinforcement and playback system design, including line array design; digital console, signal processing, and distribution systems; computer-based playback for sound + video; large-format projections, film screening technology, and large-scale video playback systems; HD videography; Mac-based editing, live-streaming virtual and live events; DAW-based music and effects recording; digital wireless microphones; and 70V and RF-based intercom, monitoring, and paging systems. The ability to work collaboratively with other departments is essential. Bachelor+rsquo;s degree in theatre or sound technology or equivalent technical experience, 3-5 years+rsquo; professional sound/video work, and some supervisory experience required. Some evenings and weekends required.
