Magic Mike Live: Las Vegas is seeking an experienced full-time Audio 2 Technician to assist the A1 in the technical aspects of handling audio equipment backstage.
Ideal Candidate must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Extensive wireless microphone knowledge & experience in a live performance environment is required.
Job Duties/Expectations include, but are not limited to:
● Reports to the Head of Audio.
● Perform the show cues as part of the A2 track for up to 11 shows/week.
● Perform the A1 track and mix the show as assigned.
● Assist the A1 in routine maintenance tasks.
● Take primary responsibility for the upkeep of the RF, Com, and Video systems.
● Assist in rehearsals and venue rentals as assigned.
● Must be able to troubleshoot and communicate problems quickly and effectively.
● Must be a team player willing to help other departments as necessary.
● Possess flexibility and positive backstage demeanor working with performers, crew, and all show personnel.
● Must be comfortable working at heights and able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
● Must be comfortable working in an environment with prolonged loud noise/music and dimmed lighting conditions.
● Job requires the ability to sit/stand for long periods, and bend, stoop, or kneel in execution of duties as assigned.
● Job requires the ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up and down stairs in varied lighting conditions.
Required Skills
● Strong understanding of sound system signal flow and operation;
● Sennheiser WSM, Shure Workbench, and Wavetool RF management and monitoring software in addition to RF coordination knowledge;
● Experience mixing in a live performance environment (theatrical style “line-by-line” is a plus);
● Working knowledge of Digico Consoles with Theatre Tracking Extensions, Players, Aliases, etc.;
● Familiarity with Dante redundant networking, and redundant Optocore topologies interfacing with Digico and ancillary equipment;
● QLab v5 operation and programming
● Knowledge of show control protocols including MSC, Midi, OSC, and SMPTE LTC timecode generation and distribution;
● Familiarity with d&b loudspeakers and amplifiers and d&b R1 remote management software;
● Familiarity with Clear-Com Helixnet and FreeSpeak systems
● Understanding of audio processors such as Yamaha DME/MRX for handling program audio, paging, ancillary tasks;
● Familiarity with software instrument sampling environments such as Kontakt and Superior Drummer. Familiarity with e-drums, guitars, and keyboards a plus;
● Understanding of NTSC and SDI video distribution;
● Able to read and understand schematics and single-line diagrams for signal flow, troubleshooting, and maintenance;
● Obtain OSHA 30 within 30 days of employment
Position is a W2, $35/hour to start, with overtime. Health Benefits and Paid Time Off provided.
