Description of the organization
Created for and by the inhabitants of Bagneux, the Smallest Circus in the World (PPCM) is today a meeting place for people from very varied backgrounds, it is at the same time a school, an artistic residence and a factory of shows. Based on a co-construction approach with its stakeholders, it is today internationally recognized for its strong social mission: mobilizing art for the civic, economic and urban development of territories.
Part of the field of the Social and Solidarity Economy, the PPCM mobilizes circus values (risk-taking, body awareness, team spirit, mobility and agility) in the service of the emancipation of each person and social bond.
In 2023, the PPCM will have more than 16,000 beneficiaries, including 4,095 people (mostly young people and children) who have benefited from our circus courses and workshops, 30 students in professional training, 20 companies hosted in residence and broadcast, 8,169 people affected by our artistic and cultural education programs and our artistic programming and 3,843 people affected by our actions related to town planning and architecture.
Job Description
Position profile:
Under the joint authority of the Head of the artistic center and the director, the person responsible for audience development will be responsible for initiating, coordinating and implementing actions linked to individual audiences and groups of the structure with the objective of diversifying audiences and implementing cultural rights, as well as in connection with the strategic objectives of the structure. As part of his/her activities, he/she will be required to supervise a work-study student and be in contact with the structure's project managers and external partners.
Missions
Design of the overall audience development strategy and evaluation:
- Define and implement a development strategy aimed at greater diversity of audiences, strengthening the social role of the PPCM and the implementation of cultural rights
- Know, prospect , diversify and build loyalty among individual and group audiences and their relays (school, extracurricular, university, medico-social, social, etc.) for the structure's activities.
- Implement studies and participatory approaches to understand and expand audiences: general coordination of the use of quantitative and qualitative analysis tools, analysis of results, diagnosis of needs, etc.
- Develop links with local stakeholders and local relays (social, educational and cultural actors, etc.).
Design and implementation of cultural and educational actions aimed at individual and group audiences:
- Build mediation projects in conjunction with the team, and in particular the head of the artistic center and the various project managers ( outings to shows, artistic impromptu in non-dedicated spaces, co-construction projects with residents, festive evenings, etc.)
- Organize and design the program for Baraque Fridays, free fortnightly evenings open to residents, in conjunction with the artistic center and/or in collaboration with local associations.
- Coordinate actions related to the public: ensure the transmission of information related to activities with the public between the different services (technical, communication, administration, etc.)
- Ensure operational monitoring of cultural and educational actions: implementation of actions with partners (negotiations, development of programs, etc.), support for artists/teachers during the actions, reception of the public, logistics in conjunction with the technical and educational team, partnership monitoring.
- Prospecting groups and individual audiences for shows (schools and all audiences) and coordinating the reception of audiences during shows.
Management, management and administration of actions linked to the public:
- Supervise and coordinate the team in relation to the public
- Search for and manage funding linked to actions for the public: grant requests, follow-up of files, etc.
- Develop and follow budgets in conjunction with the production administrator.
- Develop and monitor agreements and contracts with partners and make the link with accounting.
Description of the profile sought
Profile sought:
- Bac +5, master's degree in cultural mediation, cultural policy or cultural management.
- Experience of at least 3 years in a similar position.
- Mastery and experience of issues related to the development of specific audiences, particularly those far removed from culture.
- Prior experience in management preferred.
Required qualities: Curiosity, inventiveness, initiative, adaptability and dynamism, rigor and precision, interpersonal skills.
