GENERAL JOB STATEMENT: The Associate Technical Director assists the Technical Director in implementing and supervising stage operations for all productions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Associate Technical Director assists the Technical Director in maintaining safety standards during stage operations and managing load-in, tech, and strike for all assigned shows. At times, they act as specialized crew personnel for all tech rehearsals and performances. Responsibilities also include maintaining all deck equipment as requested, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment, and performing any additional tasks as requested by the Director of Production or Technical Director.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: A minimum of three years of experience as a Technical Director or Assistant Technical Director is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to lead and supervise a crew, are essential. The candidate should be proficient in reading and comprehending technical drawings and schematics and effectively disseminating necessary information. Time management, adaptability, and the ability to reorganize and plan while working under pressure are crucial. Knowledge of automation, flying systems, special effects, or other cross-disciplinary expertise is a plus. The role also requires excellent organizational and collaborative skills, a willingness to learn new techniques, and knowledge of industry-standard safe rigging practices.
