Description:The Associate Production Manager will provide production, technical, and artistic support to ensure all elements of BRTC+rsquo;s programming are executed with the highest possible production values. BRTC produces six mainstage productions and two student productions each season in multiple venues. The Associate Production Manager will report to the Production Manager, anticipating and meeting the production needs of all productions and events and ensuring projects are executed according to the schedule, budget, and values of the organization.The Associate Production Manager will occasionally be asked to stand in for the Production Manager at load-ins, technical rehearsals, performances, strikes, meetings, and other events. The Associate Production Manager can expect to work on average 40 hours/week. Hours are variable, but primarily will fall between 9am +ndash; 5pm, Monday-Friday with the exception of load in and tech weeks which will require some work on weekends, evenings, and holidays. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Production, Technical, and Guest Artist Support: * Assist Production Manager in ensuring timely and accurate communication and collaboration between each production+rsquo;s creative teams, casts, BRTC staff, and other collaborators. * Serve as the lead production manager on projects as assigned including the Kids Show and Teen Camp productions. Tasks include but are not limited to: casting, design, and production support. * Assist in scheduling, venue management, and logistics coordination for production department meetings, load -ns, rehearsals, performances etc. * In collaboration with the Production Manager, Technical Director, and other BRTC's staff, ensure the health and safety of BRTC's staff, artists, technicians, and students in BRTC's facilities and performance venues. * Assist Production Manager in managing the postmortem and production feedback process for staff and guest artists. * Support Production Manager as needed during load-in, tech rehearsals, and strikes. * Take and distribute notes for department and production meetings. * Assist Props Designers with initial prop pull prop strike keep the prop hallway organized. Production Office and Administrative Support: * In collaboration with the Production Manager, facilitate the contracting process for creative teams, stage managers, performers, and production crews. * Maintain the accuracy of the production and studio calendars for all Production Department activities including Mainstage and Student Productions. * Maintain the Production Department+rsquo;s digital files, including: scanning scripts and scores, editing them as needed. * Coordinate distribution of hard copies of scripts, scores, and band books to all applicable people. * Maintain inventory of general production department supplies. * Work with other members of the Production Department to ensure the maintenance and safety of production equipment, vehicles, and workspaces. * Facilitate the BRTC Internship application program including: communicating with applicants and scheduling interviews, working with production team to generate list of all available positions with dates, and coordinate with production team on hiring and contracting interns. * In collaboration with the Production Manager, manage the BRTC Interns including: communicating and confirming schedules, providing mentorship, and supporting department heads. Artistic and Casting Support: * Assist the Production Manager to coordinate, schedule, and staff general season auditions and callbacks. Provide directors with administrative support during the casting process. * Provide administrative scheduling and communication support to the Artistic Director. Other Duties: * Work cooperatively with other members of the staff to cover company shared duties such as cleaning and greeting patrons. * Provide support for other events and departments as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: * Prior production management experience is preferred. * One to three years prior experience in some or all of the following areas: Stage Management, Lighting, Sound, Costumes, or other areas of technical theater. * Must be able to obtain valid driver+rsquo;s license and have a clean driving record. * Because BRTC provides services to and works with youth, a background check is required. WORK ENVIRONMENT + PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: * Most work takes place in a shared office space. A typical work week may also include time spent in an active shop or theater environment where loud noises, power tools, and periods of darkness can be common. * Occasional work at night or on weekends will be required. * During production in the theater, occasional long workdays may be scheduled. * This position will occasionally be asked to safely move or lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
