Job Summary
The Associate Director/ Creative Producer will work closely with the team across a broad range of responsibilities. This role will be central to facilitating the creation, development and implementation of new artistically and educationally excellent programmes for children and young people.
Job Description
Job Title: Associate Director/ Creative producer
Reporting to: Board of Trustees.
Salary: £18,000 per annum (equivalent to a full-time salary of £30,000).
Work schedule: 22.5 hours per week, based over 4 days. Normal office hours are 9.00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some hours outside of office hours may be required, for which overtime is not paid but TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) can be taken. We anticipate some evening and weekend work and travel within the UK.
Employment type: 1 year fixed term
Probationary period: 4 months.
Holiday allowance: .28 days pro rata (16.8 days total) including all Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in England and Wales.
Location: The Play House (B'ham) office in Ladywood. Remote working and/or working from other on-site locations at schools and organisations across Birmingham.
Pension: Auto-enrolment via The Pensions Trust with 3% employer contribution.
Reporting to: Director and Board of Trustees.
Line manages: Teacher Actor, freelance artistic staff and placements.
Job closing date: 12 p.m., Friday 27th December
Interview date: Online interviews will be held on the 8th or 9th of January. In person interviews will then be held on 13th January.
Anticipated date role will commence: as soon as possible.
Job Requirements
Experience of directing theatre for young people.
Experience of producing and delivering participatory, drama-led activities.
Understanding of educational and community drama practice and theory.
Working knowledge of the field of theatre, applied theatre and community art in Birmingham.
Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral and with a wide range of people.
Certified training in Safeguarding with Children and Young People, level one minimum.
Experience and passion for working with under-served communities and understanding of and commitment to being an inclusive organisation.
Proven track record of being able to balance several projects at once and deliver all to a high standard.
Experience of making professional judgements requiring expertise and sensitivity.
Willingness to work from our central Birmingham offices and other on-site locations.
