About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for an Assistant Wardrobe to join the team at the Hook within Caesars in Atlantic City. It is the primary responsibility of the Assistant Wardrobe to ensure all costumes and wigs are well maintained and show ready. This position reports to the Head Wardrobe & Company Manager.  This is a full time position that pays $35/hour.

What You’ll Do

Support ongoing Wardrobe department operations, including sewing, fittings, alterations (including adjustments to tailoring), costume construction and repairs (including shoes and accessories), painting, dyeing, and supervising wig styling and makeup.
Laundry, cleaning, steaming, and pressing of costumes for the run of the show.
Maintain, alter, and repair costumes, accessories, and shoes—including tailoring adjustments, stretch panel creation, and structural modifications—to ensure the successful operation of the production while preserving the costume designer’s artistic vision.
Repair, construct, clean, styling, and prep wigs for the run of the show.
Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
Assist with the maintenance, fit, inspection, adjustment, building and repair of all costume pieces and accessories for the show to preserve the long-term integrity of the costume design.
Assist ordering, procuring and tracking of the department's expendables and equipment.
Assist performers with wardrobe and quick changes before and during performances.
Attend special costume sessions when appropriate.
Ensure performers are wearing costumes, accessories, wigs, and makeup correctly according to the production costume design.
Collaborate with other departments as needed to run the performances and rehearsals.
Must have a strong ability to manage and prioritize a multitude of projects 
Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and artistic excellence.
Maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures 
Aiding in the evolution of the production by making changes to show flow as required
Training additional operators to maintain coverage for department
Support special events as required, including integration of new performers, acts, and costumes
Participate in all required safety and emergency rescue trainings, as directed
Establish trust-based relationships with the performers
Other duties as assigned by your manager.

Hiring Journey

Requirements:

What You Bring

High school diploma or equivalent 
Minimum 3 years of experience in professional wardrobe departments in theater or live entertainment. 
Proficient in acrobatic/dance costume construction, sewing, patterning, and craftwork (e.g., millinery, accessories, masks, wigs).
Strong knowledge of wig styling and maintenance, including lace front application, setting, and traditional techniques like finger waves and French braids.
Experience with dresser duties: quick changes, garment fasteners, basic repairs, and multitasking under pressure.
Comfortable operating and maintaining wardrobe machinery, equipment, and standard office tools (e.g., printers, labelers).
Proficient in basic computer programs such as Google Workspace, Zoom, and Microsoft Office.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; committed to excellent customer service and collaboration.
Must be flexible and available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
OSHA 10 certified or willing to obtain; must meet safety, sanitation, and grooming standards 
Successful background check clearance prior to hire
Must have valid work authorization for the US

Work is performed in a high volume professional food service and theater environment.
Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

High level of mobility. Including going up and down stairs.
Requires prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
Requires bending and reaching.
Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Requires eye/hand coordination.
