Children's Theater of Madison is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager to join the team for The Pigeon Gets A Big Time Holiday Extravaganza!
This is a world premiere 60-minute musical based on the Pigeon children's books by Mo Willems, commissioned by Children's Theater of Madison and several other Theaters for Young Audiences throughout the United States. CTM's production features two adult professional actors alongside 10 talented youth actors, mostly teens.
The Pigeon Gets A Big Time Holiday Extravaganza! rehearses and performs at the Madison Youth Arts Center (MYArts) in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. Local candidates are encouraged to apply; CTM is unable to provide housing for this position.
The Assistant Stage Manager will work alongside the Stage Manager and the show's creative team to facilitate rehearsals and performances. Essential duties include creation of scenic, props, and costumes tracking documents; the show's run sheet and other running paperwork; and running and overseeing backstage operations while in tech and performances.
Because CTM employees work closely with youth, candidates must be able to pass a background check as a condition of employment.
Pay is $18.00/hour, with overtime paid at $27.00/hour after 40 hours in a week.
Please note that due to CTM's schedule of student matinee performances, weekday morning and afternoon availability in December is required for this position.
