Job Description
As an Assistant Stage Manager, you will play a crucial role in the management and execution of the show with particular responsibility for props management and maintenance. You will work closely with the Stage Manager and production team to ensure the seamless running of all aspects of the production.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Stage Manager in organising and coordinating rehearsals, technical run-throughs, and performances to maintain production excellence.
Ensure all stage elements, including props, set pieces, and costumes, are prepared and in place for rehearsals and performances.
To liaise with the Props Supervisor and Company Stage Manager about the state of props, highlighting when any attention from the Props Supervisor may be required, and coordinating this in tandem with the Company Stage Manager and General Manager
During performance perform daily setup, assist in the maintenance of stage pre-sets and provide clear communication between Stage Manager, Deputy Stage Manager and the crew.
Manage backstage operations during performances, including scene changes, props handouts, and actor cues.
Ensure an awareness of understudy and swing performances ahead of each show and making necessary adjustments, if any.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of detailed production schedules, including rehearsal and performance times, to keep the team informed and on track.
Work with the production crew to address any logistical or technical issues that may arise during rehearsals and performances.
Facilitate clear and efficient communication between cast and crew members, ensuring everyone is informed of schedule changes, updates, and important production information.
Support the stage management team with administrative tasks, such as organising meetings, taking minutes, and disseminating relevant information.
Implement safety protocols during rehearsals and performances to ensure the well-being of the cast, crew, and audience.
Job Requirements
Essential Criteria

Prior experience working as ASM in large-scale theatre productions.
Be a highly organised individual who can handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
Possess effective communication skills.
Ability to problem solve to find quick and efficient solutions to issues that may arise during rehearsals or performances.
Experience in sourcing and managing props.
Be highly flexible in terms of working hours.
