Following the appointment of Audrey Hyland as Head of Vocal & Opera, the Royal College of Music is seeking to engage an Assistant Head of Vocal & Opera. This newly created role will support the Head of Vocal & Opera, Director of Opera and Deputy Head of Vocal & Opera to foster the highest standards of teaching and learning within the Faculty and the wider College. We are looking for candidates with the following attributes: A widely recognised and respected musician with a detailed knowledge of the operatic repertoire. Experience leading staged performances as a conductor or director. A detailed knowledge of voice types and the ability to identify potential and make critical judgements. A strong understanding of the particular demands of the music profession and professional performing contexts. Experience of working as part of a team, managing a busy workload.
