YOUR MISSION

· Act as the designer's representative on new creations.
· Influence the designer in their interactions with various stakeholders to achieve established budgetary goals.
· Ensure adherence to the designer's artistic vision while considering APTO quality parameters (Artistic, Performance, Technical and Operation).
· Support the designer in developing costume concepts and translating needs into performance.
· Foster clear communication between the designer and various production stakeholders.
· Coordinate, draft, and transmit various requests from the designer to the production manager and ensure follow up.
· Update and transmit lists, tables, charts and all relevant information relating to the different costume elements throughout production, ensuring that the information from the designer is clear and precise.
· Attend various workshops and certain rehearsals in the studio and on stage as requested by the designer or creative director.
· Jointly organize costume parades with the project manager and participate in costume fittings.
· Participate, in collaboration with the project manager, in the evaluation of costume models.
· Participate in some creative and production team meetings, as requested by the creative director, by the production director or by the workshop manager.
· Actively participate in the documentary management of the project.


YOUR UNIQUE EXPERTISE

· University degree or college degree in fashion design or theater, costume and set design..
·5-year experience working as an Assistant Costume Designer in Circus performances,theater, film, or television productions.
· Proficiency in costume construction techniques, including sewing, pattern drafting, and garment alteration.
· Strong artistic ability with the capability to translate abstract concepts into practical costume for performances.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft software is essential, and familiarity with costume design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) is an asset.
Flexibility to travel and to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as needed during production periods.
Fluently bilingual in French and English.
