An esteemed residency program invites innovative Asian American choreographers, encompassing both emerging and established artists, to develop original ballet works. This unique opportunity focuses on creating pieces for professional ballet dancers, with a specific emphasis on featuring all AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander) casts. Commemorating its fifth anniversary, this initiative aims to bridge the gap in professional ballet opportunities for Asian American choreographers. Successful applicants will receive a $1000 stipend, travel reimbursement up to $250, and a dedicated budget of $350 for costuming and props. The program culminates in a public showcase, where attendees will have the opportunity to vote for four resident artists and an Audience Favorite Award recipient. Rehearsals are slated for the greater Boston area, leading to a final showcase at the prestigious Boston Center for the Arts. Applicants will be informed of their selection by December 2026, with rehearsals scheduled between May and July 2027.
