Our partner, Grupo Vidanta, the leading developer and operator of world-class vacation destinations, luxury resort hotel brands, golf courses, theme parks, and spectacular entertainment centers in Mexico and Latin America, is currently offering career opportunities in Nuevo Nayarit-Vallarta for its second Cirque du Soleil resident show to include a dining experience as part of the performance.

YOUR MISSION

Reporting operationally to the Company Manager and functionally to the Cirque du Soleil Show Quality Director, the Artistic Director will be required to manage, lead and coordinate all artistic issues involved while respecting and maintaining Grupo Vidanta and Cirque du Soleil’s set standards. 

· Manage the daily general, artistic and acrobatic operations of the performers and the artistic team (Coaches, Performance Medicine, General Stage Manager and their staff);
· Plan, prepare and follow up with regard to training sessions, rehearsals, special events, lead Tapis Rouge, and provide assistance to the artists and musicians as required;
· Ensure that the show meets and maintains the high quality standards in terms of artistic and acrobatic performance, initial concept of staging, choreography, cues, musical score, costumes, make-up, lighting and sound design;
· When requested, implement and follow up on the artistic, acrobatic and technical adjustments and modifications to various components of the show;
· Make recommendations tothe Company Manager and toCirque du Soleil for any artistic and acrobatic changes or adjustments as needed for the maintenance of the show and its performers;
· Organize the integration of new performers and new acts into the show, as well as performers returning to full duty after medical rehabilitation, so as tomaintain high acrobatic and artistic standards;
· Communicate with all performers and make sure they are familiar with and up to date on the specifics of their role and cues, in order tomaintain high-quality artistic performances;
· With the collaboration of the coaches and the therapists, prepare, document, and keep records on each performer and member of the artistic team, in terms of artistic progress, attitude and behavior, for the yearly evaluation;
· Participate and propose casting options and candidates;
· Support the Company Manager with hiring procedures for new artists and Artistic team (including negotiations) and the renewal of artists’ contracts.
· Coordinate and support artistic resources for the show;
· Liaise with technical departments;
· Support the Company Manager in the creation and maintenance of emergency measures;
· Develop, maintain and enforce the highest levels of safety protocols, as mandated by Grupo Vidanta and Cirque du Soleil;
· Prepare a monthly Directors Report with the company Manager and send it to Grupo Vidanta and Cirque du Soleil;
· Organize and follow up on meetings with the artistic team on a regular basis.
· In collaboration with theCompany Managerenforce company rules, policies and procedures;
· Support, manage and coordinate PR and marketing events;


YOUR UNIQUE EXPERTISE

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
· College-level diploma in drama, dance, acrobatics, or a related artistic or production field or any relevant work experience;
· A minimum of five years in live show management (or equivalent experience, for example as an artist), in performing shows, in any form of art (mid-size to upper-size company), in an international context;
· Experience in dance or choreography an asset;
· Multicultural experience, an asset;
· Leadership;
· Excellent observational and communication skills (verbal and written);
· Ability to quickly adapt to unexpected situations, variable schedules and tight deadlines; 
· Ability to maintain a good working environment with peers and performers while enjoying a proper professional relationship;
· Autonomy, initiative and flexibility;
· Good computer skills;
· Fluency in English spoken and written is essential;
· Knowledge of Spanish and/or other language is an asset;
· Available to work full time in Mexico.
