Description:CIRKUS CIRKÖR is Sweden’s first and largest contemporary circus and was founded in Stockholm in 1995. Built upon art and pedagogy, Cirkus Cirkör has grown rapidly. As of today more than 400.000 children and young people have trained circus at Cirkus Cirkör and our shows have been seen by millions on all world continents except Antarctica. Cirkus Cirkör consists of shows touring Sweden and the world, circus events for companies, lectures, research and development, circus training and an internationally renowned secondary school.We are now looking for someone to develop, lead and create opportunities for the circus artists of the future. As Artistic Director for Cirkusgymnasiet, you work to take our circus education to the next level together with coworkers and students. About the job: Your workdays will consist of: - Leading projects with staff and students - Responsibility for the artistic classes, and teaching some of them - Developing the programs artistic content and profile - Contact and dialogue with partners - Being part of Cirkus Cirkör's work with and towards youth and young adults. How much of each above will be adapted to your profile. Who are you? We are looking for you who are currently working in contemporary circus, holds good knowledge of the field and relevant education. You have experience directing/choreographing and can lead artistic processes together with others. We think that you have a genuine interest in and knowledge about how to support young individuals in building courage and creativity. We think that you want to create opportunities for both individuals and groups to work co-creative in artistic processes. We think that you have good knowledge about current youth cultures. You like working in both collaborative projects and projects you initiate and lead yourself. You are knowledgeable in intersectionality, equality, diversity, and norm creativity. You can work consciously with which expressions are allowed and not allowed on stage and in classes. Fluent English is a requirement, Swedish is a plus. Relevant qualifications for educating classes in a circus discipline is a large plus. We all work in the Cirkör house in Alby, close to public transportation. Details: Duration: 3-year-contract with the possibility of 3 more years.
