Description:
Apocrypha is a new ensemble show by Oozing Future (AutoCannibal 2019 - 2022, Strange Chaos 2023). It will premiere in October 2024 as part of Melbourne Fringe.
The show is a visual poem about the lives of social outsiders. It uses circus, dance, physical theatre and clown to explore how we can transform ugly and difficult experiences into beautiful ones.
We are casting four roles within the show, and looking for artists who specialise in one or more of the following skills;
- Tightwire
- Contemporary dance
- Corde lisse (rope)
- Handbalancing
- Clown and/or performance art
- Object manipulation and/or Knife throwing.
Across all roles, performance presence and movement abilities are highly important.
Basic group acrobatics skills of either flying/basing may also be useful.
Artists must be based in Melbourne.
This is an 8 week contract paid through Auspicious Arts with superannuation included.
26th August – 22nd September: Part time development and rehearsals (0.5 FTE) x 4 weeks
23rd September – 6th October: Full time rehearsals x 2 weeks
7th – 20th October: Performance season x 2 weeks
