Description:On July 26, 27 and 28, 2024, the gates of the Major Seminary in Bruges will swing open for Cirque Plus. Artists from home and abroad will take over the most hospitable garden in Bruges for three days to show the best of themselves to a large and diverse audience. Cirque Plus is primarily a festival for outdoor circus and also aims to be a springboard for new circus talent. These artists have now passed our Cirque Numerique stage: Aurelie Tercier (FR), Batist Van Baekel (BE), Duo n'Joy (BE), Trio Fullfa (BE), Fleur Perneel (BE), Duo Hopscotsch (UK), Meike Schnapper (DE), Amélie Degrande (FR), Cie. Faisca (IT/FI), Duo-NU (BE), Hannah Finn (US), Manon Verplancke (BE) and Cie. 'why not?' (BE).

 For whom?
Artists who have completed their training at a circus college, who have trained in a circus studio or who are working as self-taught artists.
All circus arts are welcome: (aerial) acrobatics, balancing arts, juggling, clowning, magic, circus theater, etc.
Cirque Plus consciously chooses open-air presentations for a wide audience.
This call is aimed at new or recent, short (max. 15 min.), finished “songs”, with or without solos.

 What does Cirque Plus offer?
A daily allowance of €300 per artist and a fixed transport allowance of a maximum of €50 for travel within Belgium or a maximum of €100 for travel abroad. Catering is provided. If really necessary, an overnight stay can be provided.
 A professional framework.
 A playing area (10 x 10 m) and a sound system.
The performances are during the day and in the open air, so lighting is not provided. To the extent possible we can take specific technical questions into account.
The artist is responsible for all other material (decor, props, costumes/aerial acts provided with their own material, etc.) required to perform the act.
The performances are included in the festival program and presented at a Cirque Numerique performance venue, between or during the other performances at the festival.
Each selected act will play twice on Friday, July 26. Depending on the number of artists selected, this may be deviated from.
A (professional) jury will judge the acts during the festival. The winner may perform the following year as the opener of the circus tour of Uitwijken Brugge (July 2025 - www.uitwijken.be)
We have an enthusiastic and broad audience and offer networking opportunities with artists and professionals from the circus sector.
