Description:
Gainesville Circus Center seeks circus coach for intermediate - advanced instruction in at least 2 of the following disciplines:
silks
rope
web
dance trapeze
lyra
flying trapeze
gymnastics
object manipulation
Other requirements:
- Legally able to work in the United States
- Teacher training credential in circus arts or related field
- Able to work with both youth and adult students
- Choreograph classes for student shows
- Participate as needed in community shows: rigging and/or performing
- Proficient with google drive, social media and ability to use studio apps on
personal device or studio provided I-pad.
- Perform other studio tasks as needed: light cleaning, taping bars,
maintaining student files, etc.
Compensation: $3500 USD/month based on 40-hour work week: 20-25 hrs coaching + 10-15 hrs lesson planning, staff meetings, rehearsals, gym monitoring and other duties related to school events. Some weeks may have less than 40 hrs, but may be made up over an event weekend, which would have longer hours.
Contract length: Minimum 1 month, open ended. 3 - 6 month preferred. Travel stipend & PTO commensurate with contract length and studio holiday schedule.
Facility: Gainesville Circus Center downtown studio is an 8,000 square foot facility with roughly 6000 square feet of training space. Aerial rigging points range from 13 - 16 ft high with 5 pulley points and 4 static points. Training space uses high density foam carpet rolls and crash mats. We also have 1000 sq. feet of marly dance floor over rubber matting, ballet bars and mirrored wall for dance. Our satellite school (40 minutes from downtown location) is an outdoor facility offering flying trapeze and equestrian trick riding.
