Our circus family is seeking a passionate Children’s Aerial Arts Associate Instructor (mostly aerial silks, however knowledge in aerial Lyra, hammock and trapeze is a plus) to join our team at Enchanted Circus Room. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerial silks, a commitment to safety, and a love for teaching and inspiring children of all levels and occasionally adult students. This role involves assisting in planning and delivering engaging classes, ensuring the safety and progress of students, and contributing to a positive and supportive studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction

Teach/Assist aerial silks classes to children of varying skill levels, from beginner to intermediate.
Help to develop and implement lesson plans that are safe, effective, and tailored to the age as well as skill levels of individual students.
Demonstrate and explain aerial silks techniques clearly and effectively.
Provide hands-on spotting and adjustments to ensure student’s safety and proper technique.
Safety

Conduct regular safety checks with the aerial silks manager of all equipment and rigging.
Ensure that all students are aware of and adhere to safety guidelines.
Monitor students during classes to prevent injuries and respond promptly to any accidents or emergencies.
Student Development

Track and assess the progress of students, providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
Foster a supportive and motivating environment that promotes children’s confidence and skill development.
Identify and address individual student’s needs and goals.
Studio Support

Assist with studio events, showcases, and performances as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized teaching area.
Collaborate with other instructors and studio staff to create a cohesive and positive studio culture.
Qualifications

Experience with working with children of all ages.
Proven experience as an aerial silks instructor or extensive experience in aerial arts.
Strong knowledge of aerial silks techniques, safety protocols, and best practices preferred.
Excellent teaching and communication skills.
Ability to engage and motivate students of all ages(specially children ages 6-18) and skill levels.
Certification in aerial arts instruction (preferred but not required).
First Aid/CPR certification (preferred but not required).
Skills and Abilities

Passion for aerial arts and teaching children.
Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Strong physical fitness and the ability to demonstrate aerial techniques.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
Professionalism and reliability.
Working Conditions

Availability to work after school hours, most classes are held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and demonstrations.
Comfortable working at heights and in a dynamic studio environment.
