Full job description
ACME Mystery Company is now hiring actors to fill open spots in their repertory company throughout the 2024/2025 season in the CT region. In order to secure a spot in our rep company, this does require you learn multiple scripts and have fairly open availability on the weekends for show dates.
Please provide a headshot as well as a relevant acting resume for consideration.
Qualifications:
CT or MA based actor in commuting distance of rehearsals in Enfield, CT
Be able to self-report to show venues across CT/MA This includes the ability to drive to locations within 90 minutes as part of our performance market.
Some previous acting experience is needed for these roles, due to the quick turnaround in rehearsal process. Experience can be in the form of acting classes, community theater or other entertainment. Direction is provided.
Improv background a plus.
Flexible weekend availability for shows.
Availability to learn 2 to 3 scripts in a short time period. Each script requires 6 - 8 rehearsals in the Enfield, CT ara. Rehearsals are unpaid.

Compensation:
* $50 minimum compensation per event, with an additional $1 per head. Rehearsals are unpaid.
Filling a repertory spot in the ACME Mystery Company means you are committing to accepting reoccurring work. This is a contracted position, and you will be asked to learn multiple scripts, so you are able to pick up work.
About Us: ACME provides interactive comedies in a murder mystery format, usually as a dinner theatre. Our shows play on two levels: they are extremely funny and fun to watch but there also is a very real mystery which each audience member gets the chance to solve. At every seat is a program telling you where you are, when you are, and who you are. It also tells you about the characters you will be meeting. Additionally, each table is given a clue and encouraged to exchange this information with other tables in an effort to put together the most comprehensive list so as to better solve the mystery. We write all of our own material to ensure quality and have been entertaining audiences throughout the Northeast since 1997. We’ve given over 2,000 performances in venues big and small from mansions to restaurants, hotels to local halls. We entertain at regular venues, semi-regular venues, annual events, and special occasions.
