Description:

DESCRIPTION
Casting Announcement: East Coast Premiere of "We'll Get Back To You"

Producer: Prima Theatre

Co-Directors: Mitch Nugent and David E. Shane

Prima Theatre is seeking non-union actors for the East Coast Premiere of "We’ll Get Back To You," a play written by Rob Bell. This play showcases a job interview gone-so-wrong-it’s-right, where Viva's corporate job interview defies all conventional norms with unexpected (and unnerving) honesty. Navigating the “Vision 360” interview process, Viva shakes the well-meaning corporate employees to their cores.

Pay: $600/wk + Travel stipend and accommodations

Submission Instructions:

Please email a headshot, resume, and a link to a video of a short contemporary monologue to [email protected] with the subject line: WGBTY - [Role(s) for which you are submitting].

The play is funny, surprising, poignant, and sometimes sad and absurd, yet always rooted in authentic humanity—much like life itself. Choose a monologue that best represents you. If you have an existing recording that fits, feel free to send it; there’s no need to record something new specifically for this opportunity.

Note on Casting:

We do not assume that the characters listed below are white, cisgender, or non-disabled by default. Actors of any race, ethnicity, or disability status can portray these roles, and the breakdown indicates approximate ages and gender identities as defined by the script. However, we welcome actors with diverse gender identities who can authentically embody these roles, including but not limited to those who identify as Trans, Non-binary, GNC, or Agender. We embrace all the ways an actor’s identity or lived experiences might intersect with or enhance the character traits as currently written.

Character Breakdown

VIVA (she/her)

Viva is the grounded and magnetic presence that holds the whole play together. In her 40s, she constantly keeps you wondering if she’s completely lost or three steps ahead. Viva offers a mesmerizing glimpse into the transformative power of embracing our humanity to its fullest.

TODD KLOSSER (he/him)

A frenetic and coiled mess of earnest and anxious energy, Todd is in his late 30s. He’s exhausted from being caught in the gears of the machinery—he just wants to live in a world where he’s free to be Todd.

CONNIE MCDOOGAGIN (she/her)

Somewhere in her 50s, Connie has no time for anything but the cold and efficient execution of the task at hand. This helps her keep all that history and all those feelings far from the surface.

CLAUDE HORST (he/him)

Tired and grieving his wife’s death, Claude could be retired but isn’t. He was there from the beginning and is painfully aware of how far the workplace has drifted from its origins.

KOSA (she/her)

A zen-like, enigmatic presence, Kosa is young and profoundly aware of how energy and life flow in and among people and places. She’s captivated by Viva and intuitively grasps that a significant shift is in the works.

GLENN STEVENS (he/him)

A father with a family he adores, Glenn is a former football player who wants to win. He’s got an acute ache because he doesn’t know how anymore. But nothing is more terrifying than acknowledging that, and he’s beginning to wonder if he’s even playing the right game.
