Summary:

As an edutainer for Interactive Advocacy you must be a great teacher and a hilarious comedian. An inspiring leader and an engaging performer. You must own the stage and connect with your audience. Interpret dramatic or comic roles for video and interactive training purposes. Must read scripts, take
cues, and rehearse with others when preparing for and acting out a role. Edutainers work with facilitators in support of our nationwide projects. You will be responsible for providing interactive performance based (IPB) training. In this role, you will also participate in facilitator led training efforts, develop a training plan and supporting materials, as well as lead all efforts to ensure our service meets or exceeds our client’s expectations. In this role, you will be responsible for scripted and improv content and best methods for impactful ongoing training on social justice awareness topics.

Responsibilities:

Entertain, convey characters and express emotions in front of a live audience.
Work with Talent Director and Lead Facilitator to develop and/or enhance training content.
Conduct periodic reviews of training materials for accuracy in addition to making updates when changes to script require it.
Rehearse and memorize lines.
Regularly meet with talent director and take cues from director to assess training needs and
training quality.
Provide quality edutainment and ensure characters and roles are fully understood and practiced delivering high-quality training
Interpret the work of a writer under the instruction and support of a director
Actively participate and contribute to the opportunities for program improvement.
Improvise the reactions of a character to a situation.
Serve as a member of the Interactive Advocacy team. Regularly consult and communicate with
counterparts from all functional groups within the team

Requirements:

Conditions of Employment

This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
The duties of this position require background checks to be conducted against all records as required by law. Background checks will be conducted prior to entering on duty.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Higher education and 5+ years related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Experience developing training content and methods for training (i.e. video, user guides, in person or online training, etc.)
Experience with voice and body improvisation, play analysis, or technical aspects of theater. Experience managing a team.
BLS in ART and Society or Masters of fine Arts in Performance Arts is a plus.
Strong MS Office Skills
Must have a focus on detail and driving impact
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Applicants will be evaluated on the following factors: 1) Academic
Accomplishment, Academic or industry experience in developing character roles and providing
compelling and thought-provoking edutainment. Social Justice Awareness and prevention; knowledge
of scripted and improv delivery and the multiple uses of such systems, professions, and organizations to
deliver real world prevention scenarios. Demonstrated ability to develop roles and edutain various
audiences on issues related to the prevention of social injustices; (Social justice Advocate/Trainer/
Counselor Certification preferred.

EDUCATION:

Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of
Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for
experience.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
