Posted on: July 24, 2019

Description:

Acrobatic Casting Advisor, Upcoming Shows
Temporary position (12 months)

Life at Cirque is about sharing our passion and about creating wonder with talented colleagues, all the while delivering at the highest quality in a fast-moving environment. Boldness and curiosity are a part of our DNA and hopefully a part of yours too. Together, we work hard, juggle priorities, shift trajectories, have loads of fun and, above all, dare to reinvent ourselves and meet new challenges.

As an expert in Acrobatic Casting, you will be responsible for talent recommendations for new Cirque du Soleil shows and projects.

In a dynamic environment that requires a great deal of autonomy, you will support your colleagues, especially the Senior Director – Casting, as well as the Senior Advisor – Casting, Shows in Creation.

Your duties will include the following:

- Recommending the best available artists for upcoming shows and projects by making artist presentations and following up with the presented candidates;
- Managing projects received and developing research strategies for uncommon profiles, analyzing requests, creating and planning projects, and ensuring follow-up with Casting Specialists and Coordinators;
- Being available on an ad hoc basis for scouting, festivals and events that are essential for the success of either all creations or a specific project;
- Instilling trust and cooperation with your clients to better understand and meet their casting needs and expectations;
- Researching, scouting and recruiting circus artists and acts to stay on top of the latest news and various markets.

We want to meet you if you have:

- A bachelor's degree in a field related to the position;
- At least 7 years’ experience, in an international context, as a competitor coach, artist, official or administrator in the circus arts, gymnastics, acrosport, diving or tumbling, or in any related field;
- A good national and international network of contacts in the circus and acrobatic world;
- Good computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite;
- Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written (knowledge of other languages is an asset).

Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group is much more than just a show: it’s also you. At the centre of Cirque's creative energy are talented people with a passion for challenging their own limits. You will love to:

- Make a real visible difference in what you do;
- Learn and grow within our international environment;
- Join a dynamic, high energy and creative casting team;
- Expand and reinvent ways of doing things.
