FAQ
Q: What should I wear to auditions?
A: Please wear form fitting clothing: a bra top/sports bra, leggings/fishnets with briefs, and heels of any kind. No baggy clothing. Please come hair and makeup ready - hair can be up or down. No excessive jewelry.
Q: Do I have to have experience to audition?
A: Experience is preferred, but not required for dance. For specialty skills, we are asking only experienced performers apply, as safety is our first priority.
Q: I am auditioning a specialty skill. What do I need to bring?
A: Fire & Hoop: Please bring your tools/hoops with you and be prepared to freestyle to music. You will not light.
Aerialists, Pole, Grinders, and Musicians: Please send an uncut/unedited video to [email protected] with “Your Name - Auditions” in the subject line.
Singers: Please be prepared to sing a cappella, or bring a track of your choice to sing to on a phone/ipod/ipad/laptop/etc.
Contortionists: Please be prepared to demo.
Q: I can do many skills! Can I audition for more than one?
A: Yes! Most of our members are multi-talented and perform several skills in our show.
Q: I don’t know any specialty acts, will that hurt my chances?
A: Absolutely not. We have several members who dance and do not partake in any other skill.
Q: When are rehearsals?
A: Rehearsals will be set according to each upcoming gig, usually the week before a performance. You will have video to learn choreography beforehand.
Q: Is this a contract gig?
A: No. All Cherry Bombs are only required to do the gig they sign up for. They are free to perform with other groups, shows, etc. They are not required to take on every booking, either. Please do not consider Cherry Bombs to be your only source of income, as our gigs are unpredictable and we do not guarantee anyone a certain amount of pay.
Q: Where/when are auditions?
A: Auditions will be held at Millennium Dance Complex (6675 S Tenaya Way suite 120, Las Vegas, NV 89113) on May 4th, 2019 at 3:30pm.
Q: Do I have to live in Las Vegas?
A: No, but performers living in the Las Vegas/Los Angeles/Southwest preferred. Please make sure you can get to rehearsals when and if needed.
Q: What else do I need to expect for auditions?
A: We will begin with a short warm-up before teaching you choreography. You will then audition in small groups (2-4, depending on how many are present). After the dance portion of the audition, we will cover specialty acts. Please bring all materials and tools needed (see above) for this part, if applicable. NOTE: These auditions will be videotaped and you will be asked to sign a release to use your likeness.
Q: When will we find out if we made it or not?
A: We will announce approximately a week after auditions via our social media pages.
