FOCA latest productions include Disappearing Island (Work in Progress. Nominated by 18th Taishin Performing Arts Award), Wukong: Before The Journey to the West (2018), I Have My Demons Have Me (2017), The Light of Instant: How Long is Now? (2016, nominated for 15th Taishin Arts Award).
FOCA launched its "Interdisciplinary Trilogy" in 2017. With collaborations and exchanges with artists from different backgrounds, such as Baboo from Taiwan Contemporary Theatre, visual artist Leeroy New from Philippines and Peculiar Man from German Dance Theatre Group. Those crossover collaborations extended Taiwanese circus performer’s aesthetic vision. We hope to discover the possibilities of Taiwanese contemporary circus through cooperating with different artist which from varies background.
Found in 2011, Formosa Circus Art aims to create its own unique physical vocabulary combining acrobatics, street culture, and performing arts. Its members come from various fields, including, among others, acrobatics, juggling, dance, and theatre. Its works have been presented in Festival d'Avignon Off, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, DGI Sport & Culture Festival in Denmark, Taipei Arts Festival etc. Since 2014, FOCA is one of the few performing arts companies that have a full-time ensemble of more than 10 members.
