Eccentric Bear Theater Co. strives to disrupt the mundane and ignite the imagination of our audiences and artists alike. With a unique focus on the disciplines of clown, circus, dance, puppetry, and movement, we are built by people who love theater and reject artistic snobbery.

Access. Eccentric Bear aims to demystify the process of creating theater and is committed to building a culture of transparency around our creative process. We will provide clear communication about the physical accessibility of spaces we inhabit, give preference to accessible spaces when available to us, and work to ensure that cost is not a barrier between our art and our audiences.

Integrity. We will create working environments that put people first and maintain clearly defined, publicly accessible courses of action in the event that harassment or discrimination should occur within our organization.

Play. We believe in the transformative power of guided, intentional play to create community and drive creativity.

Joy. Joy is the center of our process. Theater has the potential to be tragic, challenging, and at times even hard to watch. But in its making, through all stages of production, we will always challenge ourselves to approach our work with a spirit of joy.

Isaac Young (he/him), Founder & Artistic Director

Isaac Young is an award winning writer, producer, and performance artist who has worked professionally in multiple entertainment fields from theatre to circus to nightclubs. Onstage, he has been seen across the Dallas/ Fort Worth metroplex performing with WaterTower Theatre, Theatre 3, Shakespeare Dallas, Trinity Shakespeare Festival, among others. Isaac is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. @theisaacyoung
